GHG Review:
'As
warm a welcome as you could wish' is given by Irene
Williamson at her spacious Victorian town house B&B
in a residential area of this Teesdale market town.
It stands
on a road which is busy by day but quiet at night
(windows are double glazed). The quietest bedroom,
in the 'exquisitely tended' garden, is 'blissful'.
Some rooms are 'compact' with a small shower room.
The much
admired breakfast, served in a 'spotless' dining room,
has cereals, fruit, etc from a buffet with a 'large
choice of well cooked dishes' including kippers and
scrambled egg with smoked bacon muffin.
No evening
meals, but advice is offered on local restaurants.
Other
comments 'Lovely people. Could not do more for us'.'Our
favourite stop-over on journeys to the far north'
