The Victorian House

A place full of History

Homelands, Glenda and Daniele’s home, is a delightful Victorian building in which its individuality and characteristics have been retained so that you continue to breathe the atmosphere of the past, where life passed more slowly.

Big windows and glass doors face onto what is called the “Secret Garden”, a special garden which extends out on both sides of a crazy paved path, with bushes, flowers and fruits which decorate every season; from winter snowdrops to Victoria plums which they make delicious jams for their guests.

These are available to buy so guests can take away a little bit of the Homelands atmosphere.

Rooms with a view

The guest rooms at Homelands are all different but each one with their own distinct character in keeping with the Victorian style of the house. The bedrooms are all on the first floor with exception of the Charles Dickens room, which is on the ground floor, an annex that faces onto the garden. They all have beautiful views over the internal garden or the road and guarantee peace and quiet thanks to the double glazed windows.

Our rooms

Books, flowers, eggs and bacon

At Homelands guests can relax in the lounge and sit and read one of the many available books in the big bow window lounge. After breakfast, always with a background of classic jazz sound, in the welcoming breakfast room, they may wander in the Secret Garden, which can be seen from the windows. It is full of flowers and wild birds of all varieties.
